Great Grandma Ethel and Gavin

As most of my readers should know by now, the day I went into the hospital to have Gavin my Grandpa Burnett returned to live with our Heavenly Father. It was the hardest thing for me not to be able to say goodbye and attend his funeral with the rest of my family, much less not to have any of my family there to help me through the other hardest thing of my life, labor. Because of all that had went on my Grandpa's (second wife and the only one I ever knew), Grandma Ethel had not met Gavin. I decided it was time ti fix that. I have been sending her pictures of him and she was more than excited to see him. Monday morning Mom, Granny (Mom's mother), Gavin, and I headed up to Charleston West Virginia for a day trip. We got there around 11:45 and Gavin was in a happy mood which I'm glad so he could met his Great Grandma Ethel. She loved on him so much! We took Grandma Ethel out to lunch to get her out and about as she doesn't do so too much anymore with it being just her. For those of you who do not know it's been a really hard year for our family. After Grandpa died, my Aunt Judy (Grandma's daughter) passed away also. Those were the two people she was the closest to and spent all her time with or on the phone with. We figured she needed to get out and be around people while we were there. WE had a good visit with her then headed to a rehabilitation center to visit my great great cousin Betty June. She had heart surgery the week before and is there recovering. We surprised her as she had no idea we were even in town. I think both ladies enjoyed our quick trip to see them. I love my Grandma Ethel and miss her dearly. I wish she lived closer so she could do more with our family.

Hi Grandma, I'm Gavin!

I thought it was neat that he was with both of them and wanted to capture this moment forever! I have one with both my great grandma's in this same house when I was little!

Birthdays and Thunder Over Louisville

April 18th, 19th, and 20th are birthdays in our family for Bryan, Tanner, and Nick. This year Gavin and I were able to spend Tanner and Nick's with them. Clint went to Canada for work for a little less than a week so we loaded up the car and headed down to my parents. Tanner's first birthday was first and we had a little party for him. After the party we headed to the BYU- Idaho symphony! I was super excited for Gavin to attend as it was his first time with anything like this AND it was where I went to school. He LOVED it! He was dancing and giggling the entire time. As soon as it was over, he became tired and cranky, but was off to his first cousin sleepover. Gavin and Tanner spent the night upstairs with Grandma and I. Then Bethany, Dominic, and Claire spent the night in the basement with Grandpa. Since we had been out late by the time we got home and in bed it was WAY past their bed time and I had never been so glad to go to bed to only wake up to crying children lol. It was worth it though to spend time with my nieces and nephew :)

Aprils 20th- Nick's birthday and Thunder Over Louisville. Nick, Amy, Wes, and Laura all headed downtown early that morning to pick and save a spot for all of us. Mom, Dad, and I stayed home with all the kids (hint the sleepover) so we played and had fun. Grandpa got up and made Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Big Bird pancakes! They kids really liked them and so did Gavin. I gave him a little taste of mine and even gave him some way watered down apple juice  I figured it's not everyday you have such a fun breakfast with your cousins at your first sleepover. Then we all watched some shows and loaded up the car to head to Thunder! This was the first year that the kids were able to go. We got down there around 4:30ish and watched the air show and listened to music. We had bought some Papa Johns pizzas for Nick's birthday and we enjoyed those and then Amy and Claire had made him cupcakes. So we all sang to him and had a little party while we were down there. Gavin ended up sleeping under a blanket in Mom's and mine lap most of the night which I am kind of glad for. This way he was able to get his sleep still and stay warm. I was excited that he woke up about 15 minutes before the fireworks began. I put in his ear plugs and boy he could not get enough of the show once it started. I turned him around at one point on my lap to dance with him and he twisted around and got mad, he wanted to watch so bad LOL! Over all I believe everyone had a fun day!

For some reason I like this one of Tanner trying to get into the cupcakes while holding a snack already lol

Gavin and I keeping warm. Going on 3 hours of him sleeping this way with everything going on around us.

The whole family that went... and yes once again Gavin is under the blanket in my arms still asleep!

By the time we got to the car, and out of traffic, and the kids all dropped off at their parents it was a good 12:30 AM by the time Mom, Dad, Gavin and I got home. I really am glad to have spent time with them and have them to help me while Clint was gone. Thanks for letting Gavin and I come crash!

Loving Bath Time

Gavin Boy LOVES bath time!
If I don't let him play for awhile he gets mad at me (which is cute since he's not screaming mad). So here are a few pictures from a couple different bath times. He also has gotten into brushing his "teeth/ gums". I do it first than he does it and plays with it for awhile.

Swinging

Grandma Brenda and Grandpa Jerry bought Gavin a new swing since the weather is warming up. Grandpa and Daddy hung it for him on the porch and boy does he like it! Thanks!

4 Months Already?!

Has it already been 4 months? Gavin had his 4 month check up today and I must say he is one big preemie baby :) They aren't even using the preemie growth charts because he is way off them. On a normal growth chart for height he his 99th percentile at 27 inches long and weight he is average at 50th percentile at 16 pounds. My little man had to get the second round of shots and this time he realized they hurt. At his 2 month shots he didn't really notice them but this time he screamed and I felt bad, but knew it was best for him, I just wish he knew that.

Man do I love this little/big boy. He is growing up quickly and I am grateful to have him as my best friend!
