Power Couple Play Date

In a post earlier this year I stated that Gavin and Violet are a power couple. They have a love-hate relationship of a married couple and do most everything together when they can. Today we had her over while her mom went on a field trip with one of her brothers.

Headless Horsemen 2015

We played outside in the beautiful weather! Gavin loves Carson's scooter and thinks it's his.
Then tonight we took Gavin to our annual trip to the haunted Headless Horsemen's hayride. We watched a marionette show before the hayride, and even danced to some music.

Harvest Time

For those of you who don't know or haven't pieced it together yet, my in-laws are farmers. They have a family farming corporation. It's my father-in-laws and his siblings.

Once Pa-paw Jerry found out that Gavin got to sit in a combine he decided that he could do one better. Today Gavin went out and harvested some corn with Pa-Paw. Gavin was so excited that as he was getting buckled in (there's a passenger seat in Jerry's) he was shaking and kept saying "I'm in a combine, I'm in a combine. I gonna drive the combine, I'm in the combine!" I think this was the BEST day of his life that he remembers. To add to the combine he finally got to see one of Pa-Paw's semi-trucks.

Fall Time

Fall is by far my favorite time of the year. The weather, the colors changing, the decorations, pumpkins (my main reason), and also it's harvest season. Before I got married I appreciated farmers knowing that without them we wouldn't have most foods, but marrying into a farming family changed it all. Today Gavin and I were doing some fall shopping and he got to have a little look on the combine. The farmers market that I shop at is next to some fields. I assume the farmer was stopping for a little break when Gavin ran up to the parked combine, well as far as I would let him, and was in awe. While he was still checking the combine out the farmer came back and asked Gavin if he wanted to get on and look around. This is a man we don't know but took a few minutes out of his day to make my little boys dreams come true. I of course let him climb on and he even got to honk the horn. To whomever you are, I say thank you! You made Gavin's day and even week! He has talked about the John Deere combine non-stop the rest of the day.

Once home Gavin played with some of the decorations we bought. (and needed a wardrobe change)
