Car Show and Glass Festival Fun 2015

Every year our little town holds what they call the Glass Festival. It's name comes from the fact there once was a glass factory here that I assume was the main source of the towns employment and revenue. Every year we have taken the boys but this year it was just Gavin and I. I took him to the car show in the early afternoon and I think it's save to say he enjoyed himself.

Later that night we went back with Grandma Brenda and Pa-paw Jerry. We had some dinner, played games, rode rides, and got a new inflatable toy. The highlight of this trip for him was the pony ride! He's ridden a pony one other time before but this time I didn't have to walk around with him he was big enough to stay on without my help. Needless to say we had a good time and wish the rest of the family could have joined in the fun this year.

In this picture he was asking her if he could drive it! The kid knows what he likes I guess... fast cars and girls that own them.

I'm a Barbie Girl? ... Boy

I am a mother who will not tell my boys that can't have something they want simply because the world views/says they are just for girls. Gavin has wanted a Barbie for awhile after seeing commercials and I let him pick out one girl and one boy, so he got Barbie and Steve (Summer ones so they have on swimsuits). We also happened to find the Corvette at a kids sale and got it for them to drive.

Pirates and Trains

Happy Birthday to ME! This year I didn't want any gifts, I just wanted to go on a little overnight trip somewhere. Clint too my idea and turned it into an amazing birthday all on his own. We headed down to French Lick Indiana and he wouldn't tell me what or where we were going until the night before. He planned for a train ride through the country and tunnels and to stay at a hotel called Big Splash Adventure. The hotel is pirate themed and has an indoor water park. You hear that a water park! Gavin, Clint and I had a really good time and I must say it was one of the best birthdays yet!

On our way!
He was still trying to wake up and wasn't too excited I was taking his picture.

We had to get a "treat" from the snack car

He had to be a BIG boy and take in his own suitcase

Gavin loved that there was a bunk bed in our room for him!
