Day Out With Thomas 2015

We headed back down to French Lick on Friday, the trip was for Gavin this time. There's 2 things he loves, farm things and trains. Last year we rode Thomas and he liked it but he was too small to really remember but this year he had a blast! He still talks about going. We rode Thomas, played games, met Sir Topham Hatt, and loads of other things. We had fun and even stayed at the pirate hotel and water parks again. Here's some of the fun we had with him.
There's no real order to this, just mixed up from throughout the day.

He couldn't stop hugging Sir Topham Hatt, he's not hiding behind him just clinging.

I love how he's showing off Thomas in this one.

Growing Up and Moving Out

It seems like just yesterday Gavin was just a baby and now today he's moving out. He found a home and truck last night! Ok maybe he's had the truck awhile but still he's growing up.
He did however get a new house last night from the neighbor. He played with it where Clint had put it in the yard until he asked me to move it. He wanted it under the tree for shade. So now he has a cute new home to go with all his other toys.

He has a nice yard and set up. My little boy is all grown up!

"Birthday" Party for One.. or Two?!

All day long Gavin has kept telling me we needed to throw a party. I just laughed and said it's not a holiday or birthday for anyone. Finally this afternoon when he told me again we needed to have a party I asked what for, his answer "A birthday party for Violet!" Violet is his best friend and he had gone to her party earlier this spring and I guess he thought it was time she had another one. Well what do you do when your 2 year old wants to throw a party you ask, you throw a party. We headed off to the store to get a few party supplies. We stopped by Violet's house and threw her her birthday party for one... 2 if you count Gavin. The 2 of them are adorable and I can't get enough of them. They are a little power couple if I've ever seen one.
Once we got home we had a little party of our own and blew up some more fun balloons.

We gave Violet a cupcake even, hence the missing one.

Tractor Pull Date

As you know by now, and from the last post even, Gavin is a farmer and John Deere boy at heart. This year I asked him on a "date" to his first, of many to come,  tractor pull. Knowing we were going earlier in the week I decided Gavin needed his first pair of cowboy boots to wear. When he got them on and noticed I had mine on, he danced around in them.

We got there a little early and he was able to watch them get the drag nice and muddy. He requested some popcorn/kettle corn and I agreed only if he would eat some dinner first. I have seen Gavin excited many times in his short 2 years (almost 3!) but never like he was tonight. He stood on the bench, jumped up and down, yelled at the tractors, cheered, and clapped like he won the lottery. We left a little early since it was getting late and was WAY past his bedtime, but oh man was it a goodnight. It was the best Mommy, Son date to day.

His new boots!

Mommy and Gavin's boots, He asked me to take the picture.
He had a big grin on as we were about to leave the house.

Dinner, kettle corn, drink, and tractors, what else could he ask for?!

He had to stand up to get in on the action

He has never watched something so seriously as he did tonight.
He liked the tractor about to race

I love this picture of  my little farmer and me
He was amazed how far the last tractor when and how fast. The expression on his face makes me smile.
