Family Time

Family has always been important to me and our family life is mixed up and crazy like some families are. Being blended has it's ups and downs but at the end of the day I love all our boys and Clinton and don't know where I would be without them. this past weekend was full of those ups and downs and I am grateful that Saturday we spent some quality time together, even more so since that evening things were crazy and things are going to change in order to protect our family.

John Deere Farmer

Today I took Gavin to spend some of his birthday money and he picked out some fun gifts. I was headed to Wal-Mart and he quickly corrected me and said "No mommy, we need the tractor store peease! (please)" So we went to Tractor Supply instead and he got some good deals. He ended up getting a truck set and a new John Deere Hat. When he put on his hat he looked up at me with a big grin and said "I'm a real John Deere Farmer now!"

John Deere Birthday Boy

Gavin had a blast on his birthday, this was the first year he had a birthday party with friends. He picked a John Deere theme for the party. We had around 40 people show up and him being the social butterfly he is, he was in heaven! Here's a little fun from the day.
I can't believe our baby boy is 3 already!!

The missionaries came and "crashed" the party
I'd say he made out pretty good for his birthday. This is all his gifts minus the tractor.

He LOVES his big gift from us, his own tractor!!

Harvest Feast

This year for Thanksgiving as I sat down at the table I had a wave of emotions strike me. As I looked around the room I realized it was the first time I really was grateful for the harvest. We went to my brother-in-laws and were surrounded with family who truly harvest for our families benefit and others. I am grateful for farmers and all they do for everyone. Without farmers growing crops the stores would be empty. This year I am grateful for my farming family.

The boys had a good time with their cousins and playing on the farm. Unlike my father-in-law, my brother-in-law has animals besides just crops. Gavin LOVED petting and watching all the animals. The have cows, a horse, and goats. They even have a baby goat that is a little over a week old. Gavin kept saying "awe look at him he's soooo cute!"

Atlas Turns 2

Today Gavin and I headed to one of his friend's birthday parties. Atlas just turned 2 this week. Their family has 2 boys and Gavin is smack-dab in between them in age. They use to attend our church ward but moved so we don't get to play with them as much as we use to but they did move closer since the first move, so they're about 30 min away now. Anyway Gavin had fun and even hijacked some of Atlas's new toys (he let him everyone was taking turns).

I think it's safe to say, I think Gavin wants one. It actually drives.
