Ear Tubes for Gavin Boy!

Well a week ago today out little Gavin joined the ear tubes club! Friday the 17th we got up bright and early and headed to the hospital for surgery. We got there and he had fun playing in the waiting room and walking around which I was surprised as it was 7am and we got him up about 6 and he wasn't able to eat or drink. After awhile we were called back and they got him ready, which doesn't take much, at his age they just leave them in their clothes so when they come out they have at least something that is their's and they know around. However we ended up having to play the waiting game because his doctor was stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire. I must say though that they were prepared and had a fun little wagon for us to play with and pull him around in while we waited. Once the doctor got there it was easy and quick. Gavin of course woke up screaming, I would have to not knowing what was going on and not having mommy or daddy with me (we were talking with the doctor). He calmed down long enough to cuddle with me in the bed and drink some apple juice before he headed home. Once we got in the car we were all hungry and stopped at the drive-thru and he downed his hash-browns like no ones business. Poor guy hadn't had anything but the juice in over 12 hours by that point.

He finally passed out in the car right before he got home so we all laid down for a nap together. The rest of the day he did pretty well, however he did decide he could hear better and that he needed to sit all the way across the room from the TV (he normal sits right in front of it) on my step stool.

 Saturday we decided to take Gavin out to get a new toy and to lunch/dinner since he was such a big brave boy the day before. He has us wrapped around his finger to tight that we both had picked out a toy we liked and tried to let him decide between the 2... well it goes without say he came home with 2 new toys, not one. Here he is looking all cute and feeling pretty good for a day after surgery. He loved his new toys and playing with daddy that night.

Overall I think Gavin's doing really well. He has always been a talker and a social butterfly, and now it's only helped him be livelier. He puts on shows for us and is saying a lot more words to others than just me and Clint, where they can understand him. We go back for his follow up appointment on Feb 10th, so we'll see what the doctor has to say about him then.
