Day Out With the Dino's!!

Clint and I thought Gavin would love a day out with the Dino's and us. So yesterday we took him down to the state fair ground to see them and this kid went around roaring at them all. It was so cute! Here's some of the fun we had! This are in random order and some are from my phone and some from Clint's. I've added a few videos as well Enjoy!

Saying Last Goodbyes

Both my parents are only children so the only aunts and uncles I grew up with were my great ones. On March 2, this was my Facebook status:
I just got a heart breaking phone call. My buddy and great uncle Lute passed away today. It's been a year ago to the day my aunt died (my dad's step sister) and only 15 months ago my grandpa. My grandma Ethel is a strong lady to lose her husband, daughter, and brother this close to each other. I'll miss you Lute and how we'd always tease each other and I'd curl up next to you on the couch.

Lute was Grandma's last living sibling/family member, besides her son in Florida. my grandma is 90 years old and doesn't drive long distances anymore. She lives in West Virginia and Lute lived in North Carolina, so I without thinking told my husband I was going to take her to the funeral. On the 5th Gavin and I loaded up the car and started the 10 hour drive ahead of us. we started in Indiana of course, went through Ohio, then West Virginia to get Grandma. Then we headed off again and went through Virginia and lastly North Carolina.

This is Lute's 3 daughters, Karen, Lisa, and Sylvia with Grandma Ethel and 2 of his grand-kids.

Gavin loved this little corner at the funeral home. It had toys and a fireplace for him.

The love these 2 share is amazing to me. They have only met twice because of distance, but I'm sure my Grandpa made sure he told Gavin to love her tons before he sent Gavin down to me.

I know some might think it's weird I have a picture like this, but for me, it helps me to find closure.
Here lays my Great Uncle Lute. I adored him so much, and it was so hard to say goodbye. Out of my family I was the closest to him and I was his little girl. When I made it down with Grandma, everyone said he was always talking about me and how much I meant to him. We may not have been blooded related as Grandma Ethel is my step-grandma, but He was the only Uncle I ever knew. I miss and love you Lute. I can't wait to see you again someday!

Plumber

I think we have a future plumber living with us. Gavin has been found many times doing this (when Daddy is supposed to be watching him). Sometimes he even has both the brush and the plunger in there together working extra hard. Too bad he doesn't know how to use the mop yet though to clean up his mess.

I was face timing with my mom when I heard something from the bathroom, this is what I cam into find. Sorry he's so little, I had to take a screenshot to get a pic since I was on the phone. If you can't tell he's using the plunger!

 Now let's fast forward to the next day (today) and this is what I walk in and find!

I guess he tried to use the TP to clean up the water at least this time...

Random Sushi Date

So today Grandma Brenda (Clint's mom) called and asked if the boys all wanted to come over and play. Clint and I took advantage of not having kids at home and went on a random date. Since we didn't have kids we went to Sushi! I was so excited, I hadn't had some in a long time. 

Elmo Book

I had forgotten that one of my friends had gotten me a gift card to Barnes and Nobles for a baby shower gift. Well I remembered today and let Gavin go pick out his very own book by himself. He was so excited and very proud. He picked out an Elmo book... of course!

Falling in Love Play Date

Since Gavin was really little he has had a little crush, and if you knew her, she's crushing back. Violet is about 7 months older than Gavin but they act like the cutest couple when they are together. Today Violet and Ammon can to play while their mom went on exchanges with the Sister Missionaries and the older kids were at school. 

I just love how she is looking at Gavin with love! This was their first lunch date...
don't worry Ammon and I chaperoned ;) 

Clinton's B-day!

We didn't do anything majorly exciting for Clint's birthday this year but we did go out to dinner (Friday night before, his birthday was on Sunday 23rd) and he got a few little gifts. He's favorite was the new phone case I bought him, it's Gavin's too. He loves to play with it!

They love to play together. What better way to spend his birthday than with his baby boy?!

Lovely Valentines

Our friend Tia watched Gavin during the day and we went out for a date this year.  I got flowers in the mail before hand. the day of I got a beautiful necklace and earrings. I made chocolate covered strawberries, and got all the boys little gifts. My dad always did this for us girls so I thought it was only fitting I do it for all our boys. Gavin helped to finger paint Daddy's card from him and I and we got him some computer items he already had used so I don't have a picture of that. For our date we went mattress shopping and got ourselves a new comfortable one that was way past due for, then went out to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory!

I love Clint and all the boys and I'm so glad to have them in my life! Happy Valentines Day everyone!

Snowy day and Jello Jigglers

Since we've had tons of snow this winter I've wanted to take Gavin outside to play, but it's been WAY to cold to so do. Today it was finally warm enough for us to play. I took him out when he was a baby to lay in his first snow, but this was his first time playing in it and he LOVED it!

After Gavin came in and decided to warm up in his chair with chocolate milk and some cartoon is his chair. He's a man alright and has his remote (an old one w/o batteries) and his cup.

This picture is for my Grandpa Burnett.
For those who don't know he died the day I went into the hospital to have Gavin. I feel strongly that he did so, so he could send my baby boy down to me. I think in their short time together he taught Gavin many things, one would be the above picture. My grandpa always sat on the couch like this, one leg over the armrest, and Gavin does this all the time no matter if it's this chair, car-seat, or high-chair. I love him and I'm so glad I can remember my grandpa when I look at him like this! I love you Grandpa!

 Then for a bedtime snack, I made Gavin his first jello-jigglers! He thought it was fun to play with and eat!
