My World Just Flips Upside Down

The title of this really has nothing to do with what I'm going to say... it's just a line in a song I'm listening to right now :)

Anyway I'm just sitting here getting somethings ready for my class next week and for parent night as well. While doing this I'm of course listening to music as always which is why I am writing. Music is an amazing part of life. When I can't seem to find the right words, or the right thing to cheer me up, or anything at that matter I know I can also go to music.

Since I was little I've always sang and played the piano. One of the most relaxing things in the world to me is simply sitting down at the piano and singing the Hymns and play other church music. No matter what is going on in my life I know I can find peace and love in them and lately that's what's helping me through things.

It honestly seems like nothing ever seems to workout the way we plan or even hope for (I know that's life, but still). When opportunity's are placed in our path and we are excited for them before we know it, it feels like it's ripped from us. Having a greater knowledge I do understand that sometimes things aren't meant to be and just aren't right for that time, but that doesn't make anything less painful.

If you read my blog more than likely you know about my job and how unhappy I am. I love kids and I love helping them to learn and grow, but I am not happy with who I work for and the way everything is managed. I come home miserable most days, and half the time I'm not even in my own classroom anymore. I don't know what to do because I have done my best to look for another job and everything just doesn't show anything. It gets to you! I try my best to just keep my head up but sometimes it's not good enough, you know what I mean?

If I could do anything in the world, I would just love for music to be my career! It's the most wonderful thing. I wish I could just somehow be able to do so, know the right person, or something, I'm just tied of feeling like I fail at everything I try to do.

Thunder Weekend

This past weekend was Thunder Over Louisville! For those of you who do not know what that means... go repent! No for real though it's the kick off to the KY Derby festival, and not to mention the largest firework show in North America. It's always been fun to go, but since I haven't lived here in 5 years for it I've missed out. However this year I went with the singles. WE got tickets to the River Bats game that day (the were horrible for once :( sad) and had fun just hanging out there. Here are just a few pictures of the day.

Breaking News!

Today started out as a normal work day for my class and myself. WE had breakfast, then had circle time. We practiced writing the letter "Aa" and then played for a little. After awhile we picked up and did bubbles and got out out pet hermit crab "Sally". The kids love to get her out and watch her "run" around the room as they say. Then it was off to lunch. Well everyday after lunch we have nap time... let me back up a little.

There's one kid in my class who has some issues hitting... and the child tends to take it all out on me for the most part. I'd rather this child hit me than any of the other students, but lately the kid has been hitting more and more....

Well at nap time today this child decided to attack me. That's right just full on beat me. I finally got this kid off of me and I lay in the middle of my class room crying because I first off shouldn't have to take this abus and second off I was in pain. I get another teacher to trade rooms and she looked at me amazed as to what this child has done to me. My body is coverd in red marks from the fists and my eye and left side of my face are red too where my face took some hits as well.

I go home and take some medicine and what not to help the pain and what not. Nothing seems to help, so I head back to work to get information to go to the doctors under workmans comp. I go to the doctor and they take xrays and low and behold the child has fractured my jaw. Breaking news aye! A child can break a grown adults face!

I'm just taking it easy and taking the medicine I was given, however I am HUNGRY! I can't hardly open my mouth and it hurts to talk. Overall my day wasn't the best I've had in a long time. The only upside to this mess was when Jay told me he was moving closer officially :) Made me smile (as big as I could without hurting too much lol).

Certain Someone

So there's a certain someone in my life (and from the past) that makes me smile everyday! I feel like a little school girl sometimes and I can't help but giggle... Can't wait to see him.

And Happy Birthday to sweet little Bethany! Today she is 4!

Let Down

My Cats let me down tonight. The first half was rough and I felt like they just had given up. After half they came back alive and almost had it. Really.... 1 point difference! I'll always bleed blue and support my team! Go Cats! I still love ya!

Last Day!

Today is my last day! I go in to work in about 40 minutes at hometown. It will be my last time for awhile... (or until the have someone call in and need me to fill in). It's been such a long day already that I honestly don't even want to go in. Work was one of the worst days ever! The kids were crazy, well mainly just a certain one. All I know is a kid should not make their teacher want to run out of the room and cry for many of reasons. I've had enough of it and things MUST change or else I won't put up with it the way it is now. Anywho I'm off to get ready for the next job. Later!

Goodbye Hometown

For those of you who do not know, my sisters and I have all worked at a restaurant called Hometown Pizza. I personally have worked there the longest, 7 years! Next week is my last official week there and I'm kind of amazed. I have mixed feelings about leaving, but at the same time they're going to keep on on call. That way I can still work every once and awhile for fun. I decided to leave since I work full time now. It's hard to keep both jobs and have sleep. I wake up early and go to bed way late. Overall it's going to be weird, but I think it will be good for me.

I also smile a lot more because of someone. If you know me well enough, you should know who that is :) :) :) :)

night

Once again I haven't written often, so sorry. My life isn't too exciting nowadays. All I do is work, work, work. Teaching preschool again and still serving at night really leaves me with no time. However I have decided I really don't have any good friends here in Kentucky anymore. There are a few that I have kept up with over the years, however we talk and see each other once a month or so. This makes my life rather boring. I'm a single kid who just wants to live life and enjoy it while I can. I've decided I miss Utah the most because of the friends I had there. Don't get my wrong I love my friends from Idaho as well, but in Utah I felt my life was finally starting to come together. I miss it like mad craziness right now and would do just about anything to be there. Anytime I think about what I want to do with my life I just can't stop thinking about Utah... weird I know. Growing up I was the one who said I would never live there, and now I want to go back there. Anyway that;s all I really have to say.

Sleepover

The past couple of weeks I've been really sick and Bethany has wanted to have a sleepover. So last night I went over and picked her up and she came over. We went to Wal-Mart and picked up some essentials for a sleepover... nail polish, oreo's, etc. She had put in her request for pizza for dinner so we headed home and did our nails while we waited on Grandma and Grandpa (Nick, Amy, and Calire as well) to arrive with the pizza. While they baked we all played some Hi-Oh Cherrio's, it's her new favorite game. We just hungout afterwards and watched some TV. Then it was off to bed where Bethany was too excited about her first sleepover to sleep. I tried getting her in bed at 8:30 (let's be for real she's almost 4 so that's late to her) but she just laid there and laid there. I would be laying there and she'd pop up and ask me what I was doing and I'd tell her to go to sleep. So around 10 o'clock she finally asked for me to get in her bed with her... in her sleeping bag. I agreed as it is her first sleepover away from home that she actually is aware of, she's spent the night several times when she was a baby, but this was different. As soon as I got in bed with her she was out cold. Then about 5:30 came around and there's this little girl in my face... "is it time to get up?" :) "Not yet Bethany, go back to sleep... ok" Around 7:30 we finally stumbled out of bed and found Grandpa to put in our Breakfast Order. Pancakes! YUMMY!

Afterward we played some games with Grandma and helped Grandpa fx one of her chairs. Then one last game on the computer, then it was time to head back home. Overall Bethany and I had a blast at our first real sleepover together. Being the single aunt is fun because I get to do things the others don't :) I love little Bethany... well I guess she's not so little anymore. Thanks for playing with me this weekend!

Catching Up

It's been a rather long time since I last posted, so here I am trying to play catch up. Honestly not too much has happened. November 23 my nephew Austin was born! Then the family had a good Thanksgiving just relaxing and spending time together. Then comes the excitement that comes along with the month of December for us. We have 3 birthdays, plus Christmas. Laura's birthday is the 2nd and she was hoping that Claire would share her birthday. However my little niece Clarie just missed the 2nd and was born Dec 3rd @ 1:35 am. How amazing is that our family was blessed with not one but two sweet babies this year. Just a couple days after the newborn Papa had his birthday on the 6th! That first week was awful busy, but also fun.

After the excitement had settled down it was time to prepare for Christmas! Christmas is such an amazing time of the year. We get to ponder and reflect upon our Savior. He has done so much for each and everyone of us it's hard to comprehend it at times. His birth was such a marvelous event.

This year everyone but Heather's family was here for Christmas. We sure missed having them, but it was still a good Christmas for us overall.

December 27th my friend Josey turned 21! So a group of us went out to dinner and what not. We had a good time and all made it home safe and sound that night. Happy Birthday to everyone!
